The History of Faith Temple Baptist Church / Faith International Transformation Center The vision of a Church where Jesus could truly be Lord was given to Rev. Margarite Turner. With Faith in God, she went forth to make the vision become a reality. Many labored to help build Faith Temple Baptist Church, knocking down walls, painting, installing fixtures, outlets, and carpet. Many people also donated and contributed to the Church.
The first service was conducted on the 7th of August 1988, in a little building located on Deans Bridge Road. Rev. Margarite Turner first sermon was titled, “Are you Ready to be a Disciple?”. The doors of the church were open, and Deacon James Johnson joined the church, becoming the first member and the first Deacon of the Church. The first dedication service for the church was held on September 25, 1988, and the first Revival of the church started on October 30th, 1988, there were 15 members that joined and were baptized.
- 1992 God blessed Faith Temple with another building located at 2411 Young
Drive, Augusta, Georgia 30906. - 1996 a baptizing pool was added on the inside of the church.
- 2005 bathroom was added to the upstairs, the only facilities before then, were downstairs.
- 2009 the Church was renovated, and a Handicapped Ramp was added.
- 2011 Pastor Turner retired, and Co- Pastor Salena Williams was installed as Pastor.
- 2014 Pastor Johnny Williams dedicated himself to Pastoring alongside Pastor Salena Williams.
- 2014 the Church covenant with Pastor’s Kelvin & Amp; Ginger Morgan of Harvest of Harmony,
Fresno, California. - 2015 the name of the Church was changed from Faith Temple MBC to Faith International Transformation Center, The F.I.T. Center.
Many have come and gone, but we thank God for all the transitions and for the people of God, that are committed to God, their families, and to the Ministry. Many miracles continue to be performed, In the Name of Jesus. We give honor to God for all His many Blessings. We acknowledge the fact that if it had not been for The Lord, we would have fallen by the wayside a long time ago. Truly we have come this far by Faith, and certainly God is our REFUGE!!!
